Mold Flow Engineer – Tooling

As a Mold Flow Specialist , you’ll lead injection molding analysis to support high-quality, innovative automotive part launches. Key Responsibilities

  • Working with Tooling Engineers, lead Moldflow simulation activity for new part development
  • Analyze Moldflow results and recommend part design, gating and process changes to improve part quality and process window
  • Perform new tool qualification using a scientific molding approach.
  • Compare results of molding trials to simulations and revise analysis assumptions to correlate results
  • Develops and documents process and set-up procedures
  • Provide support to plant requests for trouble shooting Part defects or processing issues.
  • Completes MoldFlow related customer documentation when required.
  • Support implementation of Scientific/ Decoupled Molding processes.
  • Project management including DOE's and process capability studies.
  • Performs job in a safe manner and strives to meet or exceed company safety goals
     

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Proven experience with injection molding processes and mold flow simulation software.

  • Strong understanding of plastic materials and their behavior in mold design.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.

  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience with plastic tooling and problem-solving in real-world scenarios.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate across departments.

Nice-to-Haves (Trainable)

  • Moldflow certification is a strong asset.

  • Familiarity with CAE, CAD, and DFM tools.

  • Japanese OEM experience is considered beneficial.

Work Environment

  • Location: Woodstock, ON (onsite).

  • Hours: 7am–4pm with occasional paid overtime.

  • Travel: Some U.S. and international travel a few times/year. 


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $65,000–$80,000+ (based on experience).

  • Bonus: Based on performance.
