• Job Title: Assistant HR Manager

• Employment Type: Temp to hire
• Salary: $25 - $28/hour (DOE)
▶︎ Position Overview: The Human Resource Assistant Manager will assist in leading and directing the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
▶︎ What will you do:
• Human Resources & Administration: Manages employee records, including personal data, compensation, benefits, attendance, performance reviews, and terminations. Handles hiring processes such as recruiting, interviewing, and background checks. Updates employee files, answers inquiries, and conducts orientations. Administers benefits programs, reviews company policies for compliance, and advises management on HR issues. Investigates workplace incidents, ensures legal compliance, and coordinates work permit filings. Oversees talent acquisition, employee engagement surveys, and internal development programs. Manages employee relations, including disciplinary actions, terminations, and compliance with labor laws.
• Payroll: Collects and processes payroll data, ensuring accuracy in wages, deductions, and hours worked. Maintains payroll records, corrects errors, distributes paychecks and W-2s, and assists with benefits-related payroll updates.
• General Administration: Greets guests, answers calls, manages correspondence, and arranges travel. Handles office supplies, mail distribution, and provides administrative support for benefits and executive inquiries. Assists with investor and auditor communications.
• Risk Management: Supports risk management policies, schedules restaurant inspections, and collaborates on safety improvements. Works with third parties to update safety manuals and conduct training.
• Additional Responsibilities: Seeks process improvements, completes special projects, maintains workplace ethics and safety, and ensures compliance with company policies. Communicates effectively with management and external contacts.
▶︎ Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or in a related area from four year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
